POSITION: Affiliate Librarian, Library (PT)
Effective immediately: Part-time Affiliate Librarian – Library – Wilmington University.
Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree in library science is preferred, or a combination of comparable professional experience or education. Must have excellent communication, customer service skills, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products and have knowledge of or experience with research databases and instructional design software. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Collaborate in the developing of research guides, design of instructional materials, and assessment tools tied to the Information Literacy graduation competency rubric.
- Provide virtual and in-person individual research consultations and group library instruction on the use of electronic and traditional resources to students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide technology support in the Learning Commons Computer Lab.
- Record library instruction, service, and space usage data.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities including instructional design and delivery, Pathways to Instructional Excellence, library internal training sessions, and library meetings.
- Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the library manager.
Hours of Employment: Hours primarily evening and weekend. Incumbents may be asked to be flexible with hours, including weekend support as needed. Incumbent must be flexible enough with their hours to meet the needs of the department and/or the University.
