College/Department Information

The Office of Military and Veteran Services (MVS) creates an educational experience for our military-connected students and their families by providing student-centered customer service, open communication, and educational benefit processing.

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for accurate certifications to Veterans Affairs or other military programs to ensure students receive housing and book stipends, and Augusta University receives timely payment for student accounts, and assisting students with submission of the out-of-state tuition and mandatory fee waivers with required documentation.

Responsibilities



AS SCHOOL CERTIFYING OFFICIAL CERTIFYING BENEFITS: Collect documentation for verification of VA benefit awarded to each student. Code students within Banner, store documentation in Slate, and certify enrolled hours in VA Enrollment Manager. Report initial certification of credit hours, amendments, and withdrawals for students, each term, within VA Enrollment Manager. Add student accounts to third-party contracts to reflect VA expected payment when applicable. Adjust all add/drop and withdrawal course changes in the VA Enrollment Manager each week. Perform initial reconciliation of each student account. Calculate tuition and fees, bill the VA through VA Enrollment Manager, Tungsten Network, or PIEE DOD system. The position may manage other military educational or vocational programs.

PROCESS USG MILITARY OUT-OF-STATE TUITION WAIVERS: Collect all USG required documentation and upload into student's Slate profile. Review all documentation to ensure it meets USG requirements. Apply waiver code to student account in Banner.

MAINTAIN VA COMPLIANCE: Obtain VA School Certifying Official certification and maintain skilled knowledge of VA policies, regulations, and VA educational benefits.

COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY: Act as an intermediary, facilitator, and advocate for Augusta University's military-connected student population by communicating and collaborating professionally and effectively with Veterans Affairs and other Augusta University offices, including but not limited to Registrar, Academic Admissions, Financial Aid, Business Office, Academic Advising, and various Faculty members. Communicate with students regarding enrollment or waiver status, payment status, and remaining benefits, and provide top-tier customer service to prospective and current students via phone, email, and walk-in interactions.

EVENT PLANNING/ATTENDANCE: Support and attend student events presented by Campus Partners. Assist in planning and participating in event/programming for military-connected students.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in higher education or relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Familiarity with BANNER, VA ONCE, VA Educational Benefits rules and regulations, GoArmyEd processes. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Familiarity with Banner, VA Enrollment Manager, VA educational benefit rules and regulations, tuition assistance processes, and good conflict resolution skills.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Demonstrated ability to interact positively with varying groups of people with various backgrounds and interests.

Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B4

Salary: $17.02/hourly-$19.32/hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
